It is an informal text you would write to share with your followers on social media. For this reason, it is quite descriptive and direct.

Write a social media update about a trip abroad when you ate some interesting food.

  • Make it sound as if you’re writing it during the trip and posting it afterwards.
  • “Finally (we) reached…” (you can omit the subject to make it sound more informal in some sentences)
  • Use exclamations to help the reader understand your emotions.
  • Use descriptive language when appropriate to make your text more interesting.
  • Use emotionally powerful words or expressions to make it interesting and catchy.
  • “What a ….!”
  • “It’s such a / an ADJ. + NOUN!”
  • Talk about upcoming / recent events.
  • Also talk about future plans and hopes.
